Formerly known as Certificates of Deposit, Term Share Certificates typically offer a higher rate of dividends for a specified term (6 months, one year, etc.) We offer a $500 Term Share Certificate and several different rates for a minimum deposit of $1,000.
A penalty may be imposed for withdrawals before maturity. The penalty we impose will be equal to 45 days dividends for terms less than 60 days; 90 days dividends for terms of 6 months but less than 12 months; and 180 days of dividends for terms equal to or greater than 12 months. In certain circumstances such as the death or incompetence of an owner of this account, the law permits, or in some cases requires, the waiver of an early withdrawal penalty.
